Fun with Clay....

A little morning fun. The kids love playing with clay, mommy on the other hand not so much. Orion, Addy and Signey are at the stages where they like to do hands on projects so when I seen the air drying clay I thought what a great idea. Well, for that brief moment in time I forgot about the huge clay mess that it would make plus not to mention Signey enjoying it as breakfast.... Here are some pictures from our Clay adventures

Sensory Processing Disorder

So, we have finally been given a diagnosis for Adalynn and the things that we have been going through with her! Yay is all I can say not Yay that she has this and may have certain struggles but a Yay of relief that we finally know what is going on with her! She was sent to OT and and the meeting went great. There were things that we thought were just "Addy" that were actually signs of things that were going on with her. She was diagnosed with SPD and we feel incredibly lucky that after months of telling the doctor that something was not right that we finally have an answer. Adalynn is an extremley bright, loving little girl and now that we know how to deal with her issues things seem to be looking up. We have been to OT a couple of times so far and although Addy hates the things that she makes her do we hope to see a difference soon. We have been equipped with tons of information and tools on how to help her. She is starting to use a weighted vest and blanket (she does not like this at all), she has also been put on a Sensory diet which includes Heavy work. With all the craziness that goes on in this household we try are best to give her the adequete time that she needs. I will post more after are next OT meeting and hopefully by then we will have the results of her Autism screening. Love to all you SPD mommys out there!

National Autism Awareness Day

On December 18, 2007, the United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution 62/139, tabled by the State of Qatar, which declares April 2 as World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD) in perpetuity. Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned, Consort of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, supported the campaign for a World Autism Awareness Day through the current 62nd UN General Assembly Session, garnering consensus support from all United Nations Member States.
This UN resolution is one of only three official health-specific United Nations Days and will bring the world's attention to autism, a pervasive disorder that affects tens of millions. The World Autism Awareness Day resolution encourages all Member States to take measures to raise awareness about autism throughout society and to encourage early diagnosis and early intervention. It further expresses deep concern at the prevalence and high rate of autism in children in all regions of the world and the consequent developmental challenges.
World Autism Awareness Day shines a bright light on autism as a growing global health crisis. WAAD activities help to increase and develop world knowledge of the autism epidemic and impart information regarding the importance of early diagnosis and early intervention. Additionally, WAAD celebrates the unique talents and skills of persons with autism and is a day when individuals with autism are warmly welcomed and embraced in community events around the globe.
By bringing together autism organizations all around the world, we will give a voice to the millions of individuals worldwide who are undiagnosed, misunderstood and looking for help. Please join us in our effort to inspire compassion, inclusion and hope.

St. Patty's Day

Only Addy, Signey and Celiah had a photo shoot on St. Patty's Day! But all the kids enjoyed the festivities. We had such a wonderful day with both Great-Grandma and Grandma. The girls are such little hams. I absolutley LOVE Golden Tees and I may have to get help or stay away from her facebook page! I hope that everyone had a great weekend and a Green St. Patty's day.

14 months Old

 Signey is 14 months old and I can not tell you how much she has changed. She is really her own little person and is starting to get a HUGE attitude! Look out Addy and Orion because you guys are in for it with her as your little sister. Signey is starting to talk and ask for things that she wants. She is also really loving just one on one attention. I have to say that Addy really watches over her and is a really great Big Sister, I don't think a girl could ask for a better sister. (atleast I hope it stays that way) Here is Miss Signey Reese at her 14 month sticker photo shoot.

My o my

Well, it has been a month since I have last blogged and the twins are a month old as well. I can not believe that it has already been a month since we welcomed two healthy amazing children into our family. They are great kids and are pretty content for the most part (they are crying as I write this). The older kids are adjusting pretty well with some minor breakdowns and some fighting for attention. All in all we have adjusted to being a family of seven pretty well and are excited to see what our future holds. I have felt over whelmed only a couple of times and I get through each day with this over whelming feeling of how incredibly blessed we our.... I cant begin to write in words how lucky I feel to have been blessed with five children and to be picked to be there mommy. I hope to get new pics up soon.
